About
Emobi builds unified software and infrastructure for EV-charging interoperability, roaming, billing, and automated Plug & Charge. It sells primarily to e-mobility service providers, charging operators, app makers, fleets, automakers, and infrastructure providers; its differentiation is cloud-based JustPlug technology, which enables secure automated charging without special hardware or firmware upgrades.
Market
Emobi competes in EV-charging interoperability, roaming, charging-management APIs, and automated Plug & Charge infrastructure. Its positioning centers on Emobi Hub as a single standardized API for access to 140,000+ chargers across 30+ networks, while JustPlug extends ISO 15118-style automated charging to legacy chargers through secure cloud processes without costly hardware. This combination of broad network aggregation, AI-assisted data refinement, cybersecurity, and hardware-light automation differentiates Emobi from roaming hubs and broader charging-management platforms.
Emobi primarily targets enterprise e-mobility service providers, app makers, fleet operators, and automakers that need unified access to many charging networks without building separate integrations. It also serves charging-network and infrastructure businesses seeking roaming, interoperability, and automated charging capabilities.

Problem
Emobi addresses the fragmentation of North American EV charging. Automakers, fleets, charging operators, mobility-service providers, and consumer apps otherwise need to connect to multiple networks and reconcile inconsistent charging data, authentication, and billing. The result is higher integration and operational overhead, underutilized charging assets, unreliable driver experiences, and range anxiety. Emobi identifies the central infrastructure problem as providing instant access to fragmented charging through a unified digital layer.
Its clearest use case is making Plug & Charge work across the installed base of chargers and vehicles. Emobi says roughly 80% of chargers and vehicles cannot support traditional Plug & Charge, while hardware upgrades can be costly. For a fleet or automaker, the economic payoff is automatic authentication and more reliable charging across public, fleet-managed, customer-managed, and legacy sites without replacing existing charging infrastructure.
Product / Service
Emobi provides software and API infrastructure rather than a conventional charging-station network. Emobi Hub gives e-mobility service providers and charging-point operators a standardized integration into more than 140,000 chargers across 30-plus networks. For eMSPs, this expands coverage and accelerates launch; for CPOs, the integration is positioned as a way to increase utilization, unlock revenue, and reduce cross-platform reconciliation. The company offers usage-based and bundled pricing, indicating a software infrastructure and transaction-oriented delivery model.
Its flagship JustPlug product is a cloud-based Plug & Charge layer. It authenticates ISO 15118 digital certificates through the cloud and uses AI-powered charger-vehicle identification to extend automated charging to legacy vehicles, Level 2 chargers, and even wireless systems without requiring special hardware, software, or setup. Partnerships such as the HeyCharge retrofit bring offline chargers online, making them visible to automaker interfaces, fleet platforms, and consumer apps while adding automatic authentication, session tracking, energy-based billing, and real-time availability.
Market
Emobi competes in EV-charging digital infrastructure, charging roaming, e-mobility software, and interoperability—particularly the enterprise layer connecting automakers, fleets, eMSPs, CPOs, and charging applications. Publicly identified competitors include ChargeLab, FLO, and SWTCH; broader EV-charging software comparisons also point to Monta, AmpUp, and ev.energy. ChargePoint, EVgo, and Electrify America are larger adjacent network players, although Emobi’s differentiation is aimed at connecting fragmented networks rather than operating only a branded charging network.
The company appears commercially active rather than pre-revenue. Emobi was founded in 2020, is an active Winter 2022 Y Combinator company, and by January 2026 reported a $3.4 million seed round, two provisional patents, integration with more than 140,000 chargers in the United States and Canada, and more than 40 enterprise customers. It also reported pilots with three of North America’s top ten EV automakers and multiple 2025 commercial collaborations. A third-party database estimated $1.5 million in 2024 ARR, but that figure is not a company-reported financial disclosure, so the strongest evidence is the customer, network, pilot, partnership, and funding traction rather than a verified revenue number.

Recent News
Emobi partnered with OmniTrust to advance secure Plug & Charge adoption through Emobi’s JustPlug platform. The collaboration combines Emobi’s cloud-based charging authentication with OmniTrust’s cryptographic-trust capabilities to improve security, interoperability, and support for legacy charging hardware.
Emobi and DIMO launched a fleet-ready device combining JustPlug with DIMO’s vehicle-session infrastructure. The solution provides ISO 15118 digital certificates through a physical or virtual DIMO device, enabling Plug & Charge without automaker involvement, firmware updates, or charging-hardware upgrades.
Emobi closed a $3.4 million seed round led by Florida Funders, with participation from existing investors including Aves Ventures, Collaborative Fund, Goodwater Capital, Oasis Capital, OneSixOne Ventures, Ride Wave Ventures, and Y Combinator. The funding will scale JustPlug and support partnerships with automakers, fleets, charging operators, and infrastructure providers.
The partnership combines Emobi’s JustPlug technology with ElectricFish’s microgrid-scale, battery-integrated charging. The collaboration is intended to enable automated charging at grid-independent, ultra-fast public and fleet charging depots.
