About
Bluedot builds an all-in-one EV fleet charging-management and payments platform that provides access to more than 80% of U.S. public charging ports. It sells to rental-car, government, corporate, utility, and other light- to medium-duty fleets, differentiating through unified charging access, automated payments, reimbursement tracking, and fleet telematics in one system.
Market
Bluedot competes in the U.S. EV-fleet charging software and payment/access market, combining public, home, workplace, and depot charging with fleet tracking, instant payments, reimbursement, and route/energy optimization. Its differentiation is a single cross-network fleet experience with access to more than 80% of public U.S. chargers, telematics, fraud prevention, and AI-powered energy management; Driivz, Synop, and AmpUp are the closest software comparators, while Tesla, FLO, and Electrify America are adjacent charging-network competitors.
Bluedot targets light- to medium-duty commercial EV fleets, particularly rental-car, service-fleet, and mobility operators; likely buyers are fleet, charging, and operations managers. Named customers include Rivian, Hertz, Vay, and the City of San Francisco, indicating a fit with organizations managing multiple vehicles and diverse charging needs.

Problem
Bluedot addresses the fragmentation and administrative burden of EV charging. Drivers often need multiple charging-network apps, cards, and payment accounts, while fleet managers must reconcile separate dashboards, prepaid cards, charging sessions, and reimbursements. This is especially painful for commercial fleets: charging expenses are difficult to track, home charging is hard to reimburse accurately, and limited visibility into charging behavior creates operational inefficiency and higher total costs.
The killer use case is an EV fleet whose drivers charge across many public networks and at home. Bluedot acts like an EV-focused fuel-card and payment layer, allowing drivers to access and pay for charging through one system while giving fleet operators the data and controls needed to allocate costs, reimburse drivers, and optimize usage.
Product / Service
Bluedot provides a driver app, payment platform, and fleet-management dashboard. Drivers can discover nearby chargers, see real-time availability and charging speeds, initiate sessions, and pay across more than 80% of U.S. public charging networks. Fleet managers can control driver permissions, automate daily or monthly billing, monitor charging behavior, track kWh and costs by driver or across the fleet, and manage home-charging reimbursements using customizable, IRS-compliant receipts. Telematics, route-optimization, fraud-prevention, and multi-OEM capabilities extend the platform beyond simple payments.
The benefit is a single operational workflow for finding, charging, paying, tracking, and reimbursing EV energy. Bluedot’s technology and customer contracts were acquired by Epic Charging in a deal completed May 1, 2026, and Bluedot continues as a distinct brand under Epic. The combined offering pairs Bluedot’s payment and access network with Epic’s charger-management software and is intended to provide fleet operators with an end-to-end charging solution.
Market
Bluedot competes in EV charging payments, fleet electrification software, and connected-fleet expense management—a market expanding as organizations replace gasoline vehicles with EVs but still face fragmented charging infrastructure. Its positioning is differentiated by combining broad public-network access with fleet-specific billing, telematics, cost allocation, and home-charging reimbursement. WEX is a close adjacent competitor with public, depot, and at-home EV payment products, while the broader fleet-charging software set includes providers such as Driivz, Synop, and AmpUp.
Bluedot is clearly beyond the pre-revenue stage. Y Combinator reported 40–45% weekly growth and $110,000 in weekly GMV in 2023; the company subsequently raised more than $5 million, closed partnerships with Rivian, Hertz, Vay, and the City of San Francisco, and reported more than 10,000 satisfied drivers and access to more than 120,000 public charging stations on its website. Its 2026 acquisition by Epic Charging is the strongest current traction signal: the brand, platform, intellectual property, customer contracts, and team were absorbed into a larger EV-charging software platform while remaining commercially active under the Bluedot name.
