Wideframe is an AI agent that speeds up the 75% of video work that happens outside the Non-Linear Editor. It helps teams save time and do more with their videos. Users link their video libraries to Wideframe and then work with our context-aware agent to tackle search, editing, and generative tasks. Our high-performance desktop app works across the filesystem and can even natively handle Adobe Premiere Pro (.prproj) files in and out. In our first 75 days since launch, we onboarded more than 50 brands and agencies. Many of them make tens or hundreds of videos per week for ads or organic social. What we discovered while building for them: 75% of their video work happens outside of the Non-Linear Editor. Most of our clients prefer to finish videos in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. They don’t want an “agentic NLE”. And they really don’t spend a lot of time in the NLE in the first place. They spend 4-5x more time each week doing research, writing briefs, searching for videos, scrubbing within videos, organizing sequences of a-roll and b-roll, producing rough drafts, getting feedback from their team and/or clients, and now generating content to augment their footage as well. We’re early into providing real value within this work. Our ambition is to become the default workspace where people and agents collaborate to get the most out of their video. We’re an AI-native biotech, working on replacing needles with pills. Many drugs, like insulin or Ozempic, are wonderful except you have to inject them. We discover new molecules that you can take as a pill instead. Because the pills operate on biology which has been shown to be effective in people, rather than merely in animal models of disease, we avoid what has historically been the single biggest risk in drug discovery. This should dramatically increase our probability of success. There’s $200B of treatable diseases and validated human biology without a pill because discovery programs lack a tractable chemical starting point. This is a zero-shot inference problem, because these targets have no training data, so LLMs and other historical interpolative AI approaches are insufficient. Instead, we are building our own extrapolative frontier models that reason beyond their training data. Most critically, we have repeatedly validated our platform on both our own and partner programs. On 4 biologically- and structurally-diverse targets where we had zero training data, we successfully picked binders that were validated experimentally, with confirmation ranging from primary screen hits to crystallographic structures.

Yoneda Labs provides software to help chemists optimise reactions. When chemists make a drug or a material, we help them figure out the best reaction parameters such as temperature, concentration and catalyst. When Jan was working at chemical labs, he experienced the struggle of spending weeks guessing reaction conditions. We then started experimenting with ML to speed up the process. Now, as a team of three friends from the University of Cambridge, we’ve spent the last month combining our domain expertise in Computer Science, Machine Learning and Chemistry to develop state of the art models for reaction optimisation. Although ML is becoming well established in other fields, current chemical models generalise poorly and require lots of programming experience. We make our models easily accessible to chemists in the lab. Finding the right conditions quickly allows pharmaceutical companies to test more drugs, and finding better optima makes manufacturing process cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

## What is Yuma AI? Yuma is automating customer support by providing an AI Support Agent orchestration platform. Yuma provides autonomous AI agents dedicated to customer service and e-commerce. There are thousands of large Shopify merchants around the world generating $10M+ a year. Most of them have taken over some niches and are great at what they do: selling their products. But they all have one thing in common: they all hate customer support. It's a burden for them and a huge source of cost, as they receive hundreds of requests per day. Some of them have dozens of support agents on staff, usually offshore, and the overall quality is still often pretty poor while staff turnover remains high. Those merchants have been promised automation for years but have always been disappointed by the outcome. As customers, we have all had to live through a terrible support automation experience before, so this is no secret, and everyone knows that the current state of the technology is quite bad. ## Yuma is solving this in a few ways: Yuma isn't just another RAG chatbot. Our platform provides autonomous AI agents dedicated to support and ecommerce. These agents are powered by knowledge, follow processes, and are managed by our in-house AI orchestration technology. This ensures safety, control, and quality at every step. We believe that to truly automate customer support, we must develop a platform that mimics the actions of a human support agent. That's exactly what we've been doing. Currently, our top merchants are automating 60% of their support tickets through Yuma. Yuma can fetch information from external services and take actions in other apps as needed to resolve each ticket. We are laser-focused on building the best AI support agent platform and aim to achieve 80% true automation in the next few months. ## Fun Fact Yuma got started by accident. This is my third YC startup after Socialcam (W12) and Triplebyte (S15). I released Yuma as a prototype for fun in mid-December 2022 and was overwhelmed with demo requests. Historically, quantitative models are domain specific. Brilliant people spend their best years testing features, tuning hyperparameters, and iterating architectures within a narrow domain. But scale is the panacea: large models will find patterns people, and specialized models, could not. Forecasting generalizes. Zoa trains cross-domain event forecasting engines. *Automating Iteration* LLMs—embedded in multi-agent optimization loops and evaluated against fixed policies—can automate the build-test-improve modeling cycle. Think AlphaEvolve for forecasting problems. *Sample-Efficient General Models* Today’s forecasting models are narrowly crafted with deep human priors. But larger models will outperform state-of-the-art specialized models. Unlike existing event models, our models leverage data from across contexts and rely less on human intuition. And compared to LLMs, our models are built with more inductive priors and rely more heavily on inference-time compute—improving sample efficiency. *Why It Matters* In the real economy, our models could be useful for forecasting supply chain volatility, energy supply and demand, even earthquake risk. Science is, Ian Hacking writes, the taming of chance. It is the process of iteratively updating priors (something like: identify uncertainty, conceive experiment to reduce uncertainty, execute, update). If science is uncertainty-reduction, forecasting is a critical measure of progress. Better forecasting improves our ability to select interesting experiments (roughly those with greatest expected uncertainty reduction) and update priors. Our models will be used by labs and academics in data-heavy domains. Sam's ex-girlfriend introduced him to Greg back at Carnegie Mellon in 2017, and while that relationship didn't last, their friendship has.
